Residency (for the purposes of this section) means registering for, attending, and successfully completing the required courses.
Department residency requirements are that majors in a foreign language must complete 12 credit hours at EMU consisting of the appropriate courses at the 300- or 400- level for the major chosen. Minors in the foreign language must complete either 343 and 344, or 6 hours at the 400-level for which the student has the prerequisites.
Students must complete the following nine credit hours in French, German, or Spanish at EMU: 361, 446 and 447.
Students must complete the following nine credit hours in Japanese at EMU: 361, 446 and 447.
