EMU’s Child and Family Specialty Clinics (CFSC) offer therapeutic support for children ages 2 to 10 and their families. We address a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges through flexible treatment plans lasting from a few months to a year. Our approach centers on actively involving parents throughout the process to promote meaningful and lasting progress.

Mom Power is a 10-week group for mothers, from pregnancy through parenting children up to age 6. Offered each semester through EMU’s CFSC, it promotes self-care, parent-child connection, and understanding of child behavior. Sessions are in-person in the fall—with a child program included—and typically held online during winter and summer for added flexibility.

SMART Skills for Kids is a research-based program for children ages 5 to 8 that builds self-regulation, attention, and emotional coping skills. Over 12 group sessions in 6 weeks, kids engage in mindfulness and executive function activities to strengthen flexibility, emotional control, and resilience. Families also take part in individual sessions before and after the group to tailor support and monitor growth.
