TEAS
All individuals planning to apply to the EMU traditional BSN or the 2nd-degree BSN program will need to complete the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam, a standardized exam used by the School of Nursing to assess an applicant's readiness for nursing study by evaluating basic academic skills in reading, math, science, and English language usage. Students must earn minimum scores in each academic area to be eligible to apply to the program. For more information on application requirements, including minimum scores in each area, please visit the EMU School of Nursing webpage. Students that do not meet the minimum application requirements on the first attempt or wish to retake the exam for a higher score(s) may only retake the TEAS exam once within a 1-year period.
The ATI TEAS is offered both online through the ATI website and in person on the EMU campus. Engage @ EMU administers the ATI TEAS exam for student wishing to take it in person. Students can find more information regarding testing at EMU by visiting the Engage @ EMU Testing & Certification Center webpage.
To register for the exam, either online or in person, or for more information about the TEAS exam, please visit the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) website and click on TEAS. Registration Guides are available on the ATI website that provide step-by-step instructions on how to create an ATI account and register for an online or in-person exam.
