Canvas Quick Start
This is a one-hour guided tour to the Canvas system. You'll learn how to log-in, customize your account, and navigate course tools. We'll point out great new features that will help you communicate better with students and teach more efficiently.
Moving Your Course Online
This session covers basic principles for teaching online, from planning your project, organizing course work online, deciding which tools to use, and creating effective presence in the online classroom.
Zoom
Our Canvas system utilizes the Zoom web conferencing tool to host real-time class meetings. You can share your desktop, send students to breakout rooms, and easily control roles and communication with participants.
Gradebook and Grading in Canvas
Canvas has powerful tools to help you spend more time providing feedback to students. Learn how to use the SpeedGrader tool to quickly enter in-line comments on students papers, assign points with a clickable rubric tool, and even leave video comments on assignments. We'll also cover Gradebook set-up for Assignments/Discussions, and how to add custom columns, drop scores and use weighted scoring.
The Canvas Quiz/Exam Tool
Join us for a one-hour overview of Canvas' assessment capabilities. We'll go over the Quiz tool, used to deliver online quizzes and exams in the system, and discuss how to load pre-built Microsoft Word and publisher test banks.
