Education
- Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley
Interests and Expertise
- Mathematical Modeling
- Operations Research
I try to help people learn to take real-world problems, turn them into math problems, solve them and relate the solution back to the real world. My research is in optimization and stochastic systems (mainly queueing), together known as Operations Research (OR). I've done work in electrical power grid systems and telecommunications queueing. Additionally, I train the EMU Math Contest in Modeling (MCM) team.
