March 2025 Student Government Elections

Election Timeline:

Monday, January 6, 2025: Electronic campaigning may begin

Thursday, February 3: Applications and petitions for filing to run for President/Vice President and Senator will be available online - see below

Monday, February 17 (5 p.m): Deadline for candidates to submit applications and petition signatures to [email protected] to appear on the ballot to run for President/Vice President and Senator. Referendum proposals and required signatures are also due. 

Monday, February 17, 2025 (6 p.m.): Deadline for any proposed referendum to be approved by ⅔ of the Senate in lieu of appearing on the ballot.

Wednesday February 19 (4:30 P.M.): Candidate meeting for all candidates considering seeking office. This includes candidates for the President/Vice President and Senator. This will be held in room 352 Student Center.     If anyone is unable to attend, the Election Commissioner will be available Friday, February 21, 2025  (12 p.m. - 2 p.m.) in room 342 in the Student Center.

Monday, February 24: Active Campaigning Starts 

Sunday, March 16 (11:59 p.m.): Deadline for candidates to submit applications to run as a write-in candidate (the names of write-in candidates will not appear on the ballot). Signatures are still required for write-in candidates.

Wednesday, March 19 (4:30 p.m.):  President/Vice President Candidate Forum (352 Student Center)

Thursday, March 19 (6  p.m.): {OPTIONAL} Candidate meeting for all candidates running as a write-in candidate (Location TBD)

Tuesday, March 25 (5 p.m.): Deadline for all candidates to submit campaign finance receipts to the Election Commissioner.

Wednesday, March 26 (8 a.m.): Voting begins (students will receive information via email about how to vote online). All registered students may vote.

Thursday, March 27 (8 p.m.): Voting ends. Results will be distributed to candidates and the media after the votes have been counted.

Saturday, March 29 (8 p.m.): Deadline for filing grievances against a candidate.
