Monique Mosley: ‘Eastern has a great support system.’

“I enrolled at Eastern because it offers many interesting and career-oriented majors and minors,” says Monique, a Public Health major from Flint. “Like many other freshmen, I was undecided about which field of study would be best for me. Eastern helped me form a clear picture of my career and professional goals.”

Monique, who aspires to work with children and families in a health and human services agency, adds Eastern offers plenty of academic support.

“There are many helpful resources, like the Math and Writing labs,” she says. “And the faculty are extremely supportive, which makes college gratifying and worthwhile.”

A fun campus atmosphere

Outside the classroom, Monique unwinds by participating in numerous campus activities.

“It’s important to work and perform at your highest level,” she says. “But you also need to engage in self-care and fun activities so you don’t become overwhelmed. I love Eastern’s campus atmosphere and the variety of activities and events. Fall is one of my favorite seasons. One of the activities I enjoy most is the pumpkin carving every Halloween at the Student Center.

“I tell high school grads that Eastern offers many engaging and career-driven programs. And if you’re undecided about a major, there are plenty of resources and support teams to help you focus on your goals. To top it off, there’s a generous amount of entertaining activities that make for an enjoyable college experience.”
