  • Undergraduate Application Deadlines Expand dropdown

    Undergraduate Priority Deadlines

EMU accepts applications for admission on a rolling basis throughout the year. However, it’s best to apply as early as possible, up to 15 months prior to your intended start date.

A priority admission deadline is the last day completed application files must be submitted in order to be admitted in time for the start of your intended semester.

The following guidelines provide information about how the timing of your application may affect your consideration for admission and/or financial aid:

    Domestic students should apply by:

    • July 1 for programs beginning in Fall
    • November 1 for programs beginning in Winter
    • April 1 for programs beginning in Summer

    International students should apply by:

    • July 1 for programs beginning in Fall
    • November 1 for programs beginning in Winter
    • February 28 for programs beginning in Summer

Applicants who are not U.S. citizens or who have transcripts from outside the United States are subject to the deadlines for international students. International applicants who need an I-20 should apply as early as possible.

  • Graduate Application Deadlines Expand dropdown

    Graduate Priority Deadlines

We strongly recommend all applicants submit application materials before the priority dates listed below.  The priority dates allow for expedited application review and may include opportunities for the admitted student to apply for graduate assistantships and graduate school scholarships. International applicants who need an I-20 should always apply as early as possible

    • May 1 for enrollment beginning in Fall
    • October 1 for enrollment beginning in Winter
    • March 1 for enrollment beginning in Summer

If you have questions about the graduate application process or your graduate application status, please contact the Office of Admissions at [email protected] or 734.487.3060. Additionally, please contact the graduate program's department for specific program questions

    Graduate Programs With Fixed Deadlines

Some graduate programs require applicants to submit all application materials by a posted deadline.  Some graduate programs admit students one time each year.  Please consult the program information in the Graduate Catalog or contact the appropriate academic department to determine if your program has a specific application deadline.

    Rolling Graduate Admissions

Many graduate programs offer rolling admissions processes and continue to accept applicants right up until the start of the semester or until all seats are filled. Admitted graduate students must enroll in a course during the semester selected on their application for admission.

    • Fall Semester: Typically runs from September through mid-December
    • Winter Semester: Typically runs from January through mid-April
    • Summer Semester: Typically runs from May through mid-August
