  Alum Josh Lockhart was selected as an intern for the National Flute Association Convention in San Antonio. In addition, he was selected as co-director of the 2025 Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention.

  Up North  for Flute Trio by Julie Stone was recently premiered at the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention by the James Madison University Graduate Flute Trio featuring alum Josh Lockhart. Parallax duet by Julie Stone for alto and bass flute was named a Finalist in the National Flute Association Newly Published Music Competition. 
  
  
  Dr. Stone's new book, Notes on the Flute; A Resource for the Music Educator, Adult Learner, and Woodwind Doublerwas named a Finalist in the National Flute Association Newly Published Music Competition.
