Instructor Guidelines
Eastern Michigan University’s Student Conduct Code and the accompanying student disciplinary processes are intended to foster ethical development, academic integrity, personal accountability, and civility toward others. The following Instructor guidelines are intended to clarify and simplify current methods of addressing student conduct in the classroom as well as in electronic learning environments.

The Student Intervention Team (SIT) addresses reports of troubling (inappropriate, disruptive, or harmful) student behavior in order to recommend proactive and non-punitive approaches aimed at helping students achieve success.

Team CARE Report
Are you concerned about someone in your class, but don't know what to do about it? Are you aware of a student who is making poor decisions with alcohol or other substances? If so, fill out the Student CARE report to describe the behavior observed.
Title IX Compliance

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex under any education program or activity receiving federal financial aid. Sexual assault and sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX. Eastern Michigan University is committed to providing a learning, living and working environment free from discrimination.

Eastern Michigan University encourages individuals who believe they have been sexually harassed, assaulted or subjected to sexual misconduct by an EMU student or employee to seek assistance.

Integrating Wellbeing into the Classroom
Our office offers several workshops addressing physical, emotional, intellectual, financial, spiritual, environmental, occupational and social wellbeing. Looking for something different? We’ll work with you to develop original programming for your courses, wellness-related assignments for institutional purpose or implement wellbeing strategies that aid in student learning and the development of professional skills.
