The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) Disability Resource Center (DRC) views disabilities as an integral part of the rich diversity of our campus community and society. We work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff to create an accessible, sustainable, and inclusive educational environment for all students. The DRC acknowledges that classroom and campus accessibility needs and considerations are expanding as more classes and campus experiences incorporate online and technological components. The DRC staff is dedicated to providing access to students, faculty and staff with resources to educate and create an equitable campus experience for the EMU community. 

Registering with the DRC

Step 1: Intake Form

Please complete the “DRC Initial Intake Questionnaire” located at the bottom of the page. Documentation can be attached here or as directed in step 3.

Step 2: Schedule an Appointment

Once the Initial Intake Questionnaire is completed, please schedule a meeting with a DRC Case Manager by clicking the “Schedule an Appointment” link located at the bottom of this website.  All appointments with case managers are currently being held as phone appointments. Please provide a phone number at which you can be reached and make sure that your phone settings allow calls from private/unlisted numbers, as the Case Manager will call you at your scheduled time.

Step 3: Documentation

As the on-campus DRC office is currently closed, students must submit supporting documentation to the DRC email address. Documentation may include a DRC form, an IEP, 504 Plan or medical documentation from a doctor(s) and/or therapist(s). For a list of commomly used DRC forms, please see the forms tab, located on the left side of this page.

Please email documentation as an attachment (take a photo if need be) to [email protected]. Currently, DRC staff does not have access to the DRC fax machine. Please know, documentation should be emailed prior to the scheduled appointment.  

Step 4: Letter of Accommodation

Upon the completion of submitting proper documentation and meeting with a DRC Case Manager, a Letter of Accommodation (LOA) will be created and provided to you via email.

Renewals and Modifications
