Professional

Dr. Barrett’s teaching and research interests span social work and criminology.  Her most recent research has been focused on corporate crime and crimes against the environment. This includes exploring how the state defines, controls, or responds to environmental crime and injustice.  In 2017, she collaborated with Drs. Lynch, Long, and Stretesky on the book “Green Criminology: Crime, Justice, and the Environment” (University of California Press).   She currently serves on the editorial board for the Journal of White Collar and Corporate Crime, and to date, she has authored or co-authored a combined 40+ peer-reviewed articles, chapters, encyclopedia entries, and book reviews.
