Transfer Guide for Anthropology Students
Have you taken one or more anthropology classes that you found really interesting? Interested in transferring to EMU to get a degree with an anthropology major or minor? We're glad that you found anthropology and ready to help you make your plans for a major or a minor a reality. EMU is a great place to study anthropology with opportunities for study, research, and practice inside and outside of the classroom in multiple subdisciplines. We also have an active student-run Anthropology Club and Anthropology Alumni Group.
In just about every case, some or all of the anthropology classes that you have taken before coming to EMU will transfer in and count toward the major or minor.
The courses below help to satisfy requirements for the anthropology major and minor programs as defined in Eastern Michigan University’s 2025-2026 catalog program. Each course is linked to a page to allow you to check for equivalencies for the courses at your transferring institution. We encourage you to connect with our admissions department to discuss transfer opportunities to EMU!
