The Academy for Business and Technology is a public charter school serving grades 6-12. The academy provides a college preparatory program for students from Melvindale and surrounding communities. The school's academic program provides students with a strong background in core subjects, pre-engineering through science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and business principles. Academy students are provided with opportunities to take college level AP and Honors courses in several core subject areas.
The Academy offers a strong academic program combined with a family atmosphere. The small class sizes and personal attention that students receive from staff and teachers generate a building-wide rapport. Teachers, parents and the community work together to enhance the potential of our students, preparing them to be successful and contributing members of society.
Staff and students work together to create new programs and build school spirit. The Academy has a growing number of extra-curricular activities. The Athletic Department sports include boy's and girl's basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, football, track and cheerleading along with middle school basketball for boys and girls.
