Commonwealth Community Development Academy

Commonwealth Community Development Academy was founded June 1996. Its curriculum focuses on reading improvement, math, science and technology with small class settings. Before and after-school enrichment tutoring and a breakfast and lunch program are also offered to students. Extracurricular activities include math, academic games, boys and girls basketball team, volleyball, flag football, cheerleading, science club and tech clubs.

Commonwealth Community Development Academy continues to improve the abilities of its staff. It adopted and implemented the Success for All reading reform model and Step Up To Writing model in the 2001-2002 school year.

Hands-on learning and project-based learning serve as the core tool for student success through exploration and application.
