Biography

Professor Kangas is a practicing attorney and proud alumnus of the Arts Management program at EMU. He is an accomplished stage actor, stand-up comedian, and puppeteer. After completing his studies at Eastern, he founded a presentation consulting company, through which he advised diverse companies and professionals on persuasive and impactful presentation skills. He later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as an editor of the Michigan Journal of Gender and Law. He was subsequently accepted into the Georgetown Center for the Constitution’s prestigious Seminar on Originalism.

As an attorney, Gordon's practice focuses on commercial litigation representing large institutional clients. He specializes in appellate practice, having previously worked at the Michigan Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He has previously taught Law, Public Policy, and the Arts at Eastern, merging his love of the arts and the law in the classroom.
