Housing Move-In

Fall Move-In

Housing & Residence Life is excited to welcome you to campus this fall!

EMU strongly encourages all students to test themselves for COVID-19 within 72 hours of move-in.

If you test positive for COVID-19, please contact EMU Telehealth at [email protected] for information about managing your diagnosis and to determine the earliest that you will be eligible to move-in.

Vaccination Requirements:

For Fall 2022, EMU will require all students who live in all University housing, including apartments, to be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccines and to report their vaccination status to the University. You are “up-to-date” with your COVID-19 vaccines when you have received all doses in the primary vaccination series and all boosters for which you are eligible. To learn more about being up-to-date with your COVID-19 vaccines, you may review these guidelines or contact EMU Telehealth

The deadline for being up-to-date with your COVID-19 vaccines and reporting your vaccination information to the University is August 1, 2022.

For more information about how to report your vaccine status, request an accommodation, or receive the COVID-19 vaccine, please visit our EMU Safe website.

Move-In Schedule:

Only students who meet our vaccination requirements (or have a University provided exemption) and have been approved by EMU TeleHealth AND meet Housing's minimum credit hour (7 credits for undergrad students, 6 credits graduate students) requirement will be allowed to move in.

Approved students will move in for Fall 2022 using a staggered process, based on their classification (first-year student or upper-class student), what building they live in, and what floor they live on.

You need to know where you are living this fall in order to determine when you are scheduled to move in. Students can find this information by logging into their 22/23 housing application and looking at the Assignment Information page

Students are expected to arrive on their assigned day during the assigned time frame. If a student cannot arrive during their time frame on their assigned day, we have a designated period at the end of each day for students who missed their arrival time.

Please be advised that if a student arrives outside of their posted time frame, Housing may ask the student to leave and return to move in during their assigned day and time.

Students may have up to 2 guests to help them move in. Move-in guests do not need to be COVID tested prior to move-in.

To learn more about your specific move-in process, please select the section that best describes your situation:
