National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

The occupational therapy certification (registration) examination is administered by a testing service under contract with the NBCOT. Currently there is on-demand testing. You will be responsible for having a transcript verifying your graduation sent to NBCOT. Information about procedures will be on their website. Eligibility includes successful completion of all academic and fieldwork requirements. The certification examination is used as a basis for licensure in those states where occupational therapists are required to be licensed. As part of your application, you will attest to your character, and you will be asked to answer questions related to the topic of felonies and or convictions. Please refer to the NBCOT website for additional information on an early determination review process relating to character or contact them via phone at at 301.990.7979 or their website.
