We offer one-on-one academic advising appointments for all CHHS undergraduate majors. Appointments are available Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. Please see your advisor's schedule for virtual and on-campus availability.

Schedule an Advising Appointment
CHHS advisors meet with admitted undergraduate students in CHHS majors and minors. The Office of Admissions can help you if you have questions about attending and/or transferring to Eastern Michigan University.
- In order to schedule an appointment you must be admitted to EMU and logged into your my.emich account.
- For all virtual appointments, we ask that you are on a computer or tablet and logged in to your emich account, and are prepared to take notes either electronically or with a pen and paper.
- Advising appointments typically take 30 minutes and are generally via phone or zoom. We offer virtual and in-person advising BY APPOINTMENT. Due to advising schedules and other University commitments, we can not guarantee your advisor will be available for walk-ins.
Quick Question Advising
Fall 2024: Quick Question Advising sessions are from 2pm - 4pm every Wednesday
Quick Question Advising is for:
- Currently enrolled EMU Students
- Assistance with reading your Gen Ed Audit
- Questions about a pre-requisite for a specific course
- Starfish concerns, or help scheduling an appointment
- Assistance with withdrawing from a course
- Questions about who to contact if you are changing your major
Quick Question Advising is not for:
- Prospective students with questions about being admitted to EMU
- Major specific questions or questions about articulation agreements
- Questions about filling out a second admit application
- Creating your schedule for next semester
- Creating a four year plan

Directions
The CHHS Advising Center is located in 214 Marshall building in the center of campus. Students are required to schedule an appointment as we may not be able to accommodate walk-ins. The nearest parking lot is the Pease Guest Parking Lot ($2/hr). The address for the parking lot is 494 College Place, Ypsilanti, MI, 48197. After parking, the Marshall Building is located to the Northwest on the other side of Roosevelt Hall. Unfortunately, the Marshall Building does not have a street address you can put into google maps.
Advising Staff
The College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) Advising Center is for admitted undergraduate students who are interested in an undergraduate major or minor in CHHS. CHHS is the second larges college at EMU, offering a variety of majors and minors. As a student at Eastern Michigan University you are strongly encouraged to talk with a CHHS advisor each semester to maintain your progress the in the general education program and to begin to develop your major program of study. Students are assigned an advisor based on their specific major.
