Eastern Michigan University and the College of Health and Human Services is proud to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its Occupational Therapy program. Established in 1941, the OT program has prepared practitioners and scholars alike who have provided service to the profession, to their clients, and to communities. These dedicated health professionals use their skill and compassion to reengage people in activities they need or want to do.

The Occupational Therapy program’s Diamond Jubilee celebration will take place September 23 and 24 with the 6th Annual Lyla M. Spelbring Endowed Lectureship and Conference and 75th anniversary reception. Dr. Spelbring was a visionary leader who inspired generations of OT students and professionals through her dedication to the profession. The keynote speaker at this year’s event is Dr. Glen Gillen, Associate Director, Professor of Regenerative & Rehabilitation Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center Programs in Occupational Therapy.

 

“The Spelbring lectureship creates a wonderful opportunity for occupational therapists to receive professional development units each year for a great price with the added benefit of good food and seeing old friends and making new ones.
