Professor Booth joined the Eastern faculty in the fall of 2006, with an extensive background as an artist, manager and educator. As an artist, Susan spent a decade working for regional theatres and opera companies such as the New York Shakespeare Festival, the Old Globe Theatre and the Santa Fe Opera Company.
After completing an MFA in Theatre Management at Columbia University, Susan worked as a fundraiser for theatre companies including the Manhattan Theatre Club, the Arden Theatre Company and the Valentine Theatre here in the Midwest. In 1997, Professor Booth began teaching at Bowling Green State University where she developed a new minor in Arts Management.
Since joining EMU, Booth has been Director of the Arts Management and Administration Programs since 2014, and was the Director of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. In the winter of 2020, Professor Booth was a Fulbright Scholar in Seoul South Korea where she taught at Hongik University.
