Biography

Jennifer's graduate training emphasized "actor created theatre" and the complete Lecoq pedagogy. She also holds additional training in Alexander technique with Ilan Reichel, clown work with Giovanni Fusetti and Butoh with Fran Barbe. She has created movement for many productions at EMU, including The Snow Queen, Angels in America, Dead Man's Cell Phone and Bud, not Buddy to name a few. Professional movement work includes Equus for which she received a Wilde award (Michigan's Professional Theatre Awards) for Best Movement Direction in 2011. As a performer she has worked professionally at the Gate Theatre's production of Big Love in London, UK. She has also worked locally at The Tipping Point Theatre, Andiamo Theatre and Performance Network. She also enjoys devising and collaborating on new work such as Simone: An Evening in Chapter Titles at Detroit's Planet Ant Theatre or Shoulder to the Wheel at the Riverside Arts Center. During the summer months you will find her teaching at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan. There, she performs and teaches movement and musical theatre to high school and middle school aged students from all over the world. She has taught professional movement workshops around the state. She directs and teaches workshops at the high school level.
