The MSHROD China program is a joint program with the Tianjin University of Commerce in China. Students graduate with an EMU MSHROD Degree and are taught by faculty from EMU and TJUC. 

One of EMU's most successful International programs, the MSHROD China is getting ready to celebrate its 20th Anniversary in Fall 2024.

Program Goals

  • To prepare professionals who understand and apply human resource and organizational development techniques in ways that lead to greater organizational effectiveness.
  • To prepare professionals who understand and are able to plan, implement and manage change processes, whether in positions internal to an organization (managerial or staff support) or as external consultants.
  • To prepare professionals who understand the need to match organizational needs with human resource needs and are able to implement appropriate systems related to structure, process, and human resources.

Admissions Information

  • Minimum Graduate School Requirements

    For full admission, applicants must have 

    • Earned a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. institution, 
    • a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, or 3.0 in the last half of the undergraduate program. 

    Conditional admission may be available to applicants who do not meet minimum admission requirements.

  • Admission Criteria
    • Overall undergraduate GPA for regular admission- 2.75
    • GMAT or GRE - Not required
    • Language Proficiency - CET-4, IELTS of 5.0 for regular admission. If no exam, students will be admitted as ESL  and will  take Intensive English course at Tianjin University of Commerce (TJUC)
    • Degree Requirements - Applicants admitted as Bridge students if graduated from the Chinese three-year program as an undergraduate
    • Financial Resources/Visa Requirement - No financial statement required; no visa required since students do not come to the U.S.
