Scholarship
Upon surveying our transfer students, MICUP-BEAT staff has found that affordability is often a key to success. We also found that our transfer students are hard workers deserving of a Bachelor’s degree. To support transfer students’ hard work and dedication, and increase the affordability of their time at EMU, MICUP-BEAT is offering a one-time, three-credit tuition waiver for qualifying students.
MICUP-BEAT services are available to you year-round and your academic success is our primary goal.
MICUP-BEAT Scholarship Objectives
- Ensure timely graduation.
- Encourage students’ academic tenacity.
- Embolden students’ development towards personalized career goals.
Eligibility
- Be a transfer student.
- Meet SAP requirements.
- Be a State of Michigan resident.
- Become a MICUP-BEAT participant.
- Complete the cohort application and be accepted into the MICUP-BEAT program.
- Actively engage in the MICUP-BEAT Canvas course shell.
- Participate in the programming of Academic Success Partnerships, department in which MICUP-BEAT is housed.
- Meet with an academic success coach at Academic Success Partnerships once a month during your first academic year at EMU.
- Earn 30 credits in 12 months at Eastern Michigan University, with a 2.5 or higher GPA.
- You can complete your credits as you desire, but here are some suggestions:
- 15 credits in the Fall, 15 credits in Winter (and vice versa)
- 12 credits in the Fall, 12 credits in Winter, and six credits in the Summer
