VDA 6.3 Process Auditing for Supply Chain

Two-Day Course

In this two-day course, participants will learn the methodology for performing process audits according to VDA 6.3 (2023).  This course instructs in the auditing approach to support new product launch that allows your team to use a risk-based approach for supply chain assessment and ongoing management.  No longer audit quality management system requirements already audited by 3rd parties but  learn how to focus on the risks suppliers introduces into your operations and how to work with suppliers on focused actions to improve performance.

The course is workshop based to support hands-on experience for use of the methodology in practical application within the workplace.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of the training attendees will be able to:

  • Recognize the general requirements and fundamental principles of VDA 6.3 (2023).
  • Use and apply the questionnaire in practice using the process elements (P1-P7).
  • Identify the relevant risks using the process audit and ensure a reliable evaluation.
  • Apply the Risk Scoring, Downgrade Rules, and Results Reporting.

Who Should Attend

  • All personnel involved in auditing, evaluating, and managing suppliers for product launch activities and ongoing production capability.

Prerequisites

  • Knowledge of ISO 19011, Quality System Audit Methodology
  • Good knowledge of quality tools and methods
  • Knowledge of the relevant customer-specific requirements
  • Knowledge of the relevant management system requirements (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VDA 6.1)

Note that after attending this course you will not be a Certified VDA 6.3 Process Auditor. To satisfy that requirement, you will need to attend an accredited VDA 6.3 - Qualification for Process Auditor with Examination (5-day) course.
