All Rec/IM members, 18 years or older, are eligible to participate in Group Fitness Programs free of charge. Please preregister for classes through our online portal to secure your spot in the class and make sign in easier for instructors at the time of class.
Please pay special attention to room locations as some classes will operate out of two different rooms.

This Pilates class will target the whole body through a variation of strength and endurance exercises. Using a mat and additional pilates equipment, this class will work to improve strength, flexibility, and mind body connection.

This high energy class will leave you feeling accomplished! One of our fitness instructors will lead you through a variety of lower body and core exercises that will strengthen and sculpt your body. Using a mix of bodyweight exercises, dumbbells, kettlebells and other equipment this class will boost your energy and condition your body!

This program is aimed at beginners who are interested in starting out at the gym and want some guidance and information on how to get started. This class introduces a wide variety of foundational movements through a wide variety of modalities. We begin with a preparatory warm-up followed by progressive resistance workout that focuses on all major muscle groups, challenging all levels of fitness with the use of free weights, body weight, machine equipment, and modifiable exercises to meet everyone's needs while emphasizing periods of work followed by rest. Finishing session with a brief cool-down and stretch.

Treadmill Turn Up

This class delivers a fast paced cardio session before the start of your day. Treadmills will be used to let you gauge the speed and intensity to your liking with the guidance of an instructor. The class will be programmed with intensity and active rest intervals to effectively burn calories. The treadmill doesn't have to be boring. Our instructors will help motivate you to get the best possible treadmill workout ever! The best part is, this class is only 30 minutes so it's a great addition to your strength training!

Nappercise practices a technique called Progressive Muscle Relaxation. This is a simple yet powerful method that helps you become more aware of where tension lives in your body and guides you to releasing it through intentional breathing and small, focused muscle contractions. From your toes all the way up to your forehead you will be guided through this relaxation to help reduce muscle tension.

Cycle & Sculpt is a high-energy, full-body workout combining both cardio and strength training. Class begins with an intense cycling session to elevate your heart rate, burn calories, and increase cardiovascular endurance. Cycle & Sculpt includes motivating music, dynamic instruction, and a fun and supportive environment. This class contains modifications and personal choice in weight load, allowing for an effective workout for all fitness levels.

On Wednesdays We Walk

Starting at the Rec/IM East Entrance
Get your daily steps in while you walk and talk with other EMU Eagles. Enjoy moving around campus with these 30 minute outdoor walks and take advantage of the physical and mental benefits that come from walking and socializing.
Starting Location will be at the Rec/IM front east entrance! Please dress for the weather. If bad weather in predicted and the walk needs to be rescheduled, you will receive an email if pre-registered.
