wellness Coaching

Wellness coaching is not therapy. It's a supportive partnership that helps students bridge the gap between where they are now and their desired future. By focusing on physical, emotional, and mental well-being, wellness coaches help students build healthy habits and achieve their personal goals. 

Why Wellness Coaching?

    Peer educators are students themselves, so they understand the unique challenges faced by EMU students firsthand. They can share their own experiences and struggles, making them more relatable and approachable.

    Students may feel less hesitant to seek help from peers who are going through similar experiences, reducing the stigma associated with mental health and wellness issues.

    Peer educators can create a sense of community and belonging for students struggling with these issues. They can offer encouragement, support, and practical tips based on their own experiences.

    Peer educators can tailor their approach to the specific needs of their peers. They can address issues like procrastination or interpersonal conflicts in a way that directly relates to student life at EMU.

Interpersonal Issues and Conflict Management: Peer educators can facilitate workshops on communication skills, healthy relationships, and conflict resolution strategies specifically relevant to student interactions.


Stress and Procrastination: Peer educators can share stress management techniques, time management tools, and study skills workshops specifically geared towards student workload and deadlines.


Financial Stress: Peer educators can offer workshops on financial literacy, budgeting, scholarship opportunities, and navigating financial aid resources.

Food Insecurity: Peer educators can connect students with on-campus food resources, organize food drives, and provide budgeting tips for affordable healthy meals.
