Eastern Michigan University Military and Veteran Services was Gold Diploma
awarded the Gold Standard Diploma by the Michigan Veterans
Affairs Agency in 2015.  Additionally, EMU is ranked among
the top Military Friendly Schools for 2016. The Military and
Veteran Resource Center and lounge is located in 202 Pierce Hall
and is a place where military and veteran students can relax, study,
and meet other veterans.

Using Your VA Educational Benefits at EMU: Easy as 1, 2, 3! Enrollment Certification Request

1) Provide a copy of your VA Certificate of Eligibility, a VA Form 22-1905 from your Vocational Rehab and Employment counselor or a Notice of Basic Eligibility from your National Guard or Reserve unit to
our office. You may upload a copy through your enrollment certification request.

2) Register for classes and finalize your schedule

3) Click on the big green button to request certification. Perform step 3 EVERY SEMESTER after you register and finalize your schedule.


Veteran Student Support Services provides dedicated academic and personal support, tailored to address the unique needs of veterans who are in pursuit of a bachelor's degree from EMU.  Once enrolled in the program you will meet with the Director of Veteran Student Support Services at least once per semester to review academic progress ensuring you are on the path to academic success.  We will guide you through the resume building process and help you translate your military career into marketable skills you can utilize in your civilian career.  You will be given a student coach who will help connect you with advisors in your field of study and introduce you to campus activities.  You will also meet with a Veteran's Resource Representative who can help you navigate through the VA Healthcare system, as well as, other available benefits you may not find on your own.

Army & Air National Guard may apply for the Michigan National Guard Grant.  Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and re-apply every year. Fax the form directly to 517.481.7782
