Who is eligible to apply to the Brotherhood and Sisterhood Scholars program?
- Be admitted to EMU as a first-year student beginning in the fall semester
- Read and agree to Brotherhood and Sisterhood Scholars program requirements
- Complete the BHSH Scholars application (priority consideration will be given to those who apply by February 15)
- Reside in Sellers Hall if you select on-campus housing
Is there a fee to participate in this program ?
Yes, there is a $50 fee associated with participating in this program.
If I plan to attend EMU in the winter semester, can I apply to the program?
Unfortunately, you have to be a first-year student entering in the fall semester to be apart of the program.
How do I apply?
Can I apply to BHSH Scholars if I am part of another Living and Learning Community?
Unfortunately, you can only be part of one Living and Learning Community. That means that we can’t accept students who will be part of other communities.
When do I apply?
We encourage you to apply as soon as you have received your admissions letter from EMU. Priority consideration will be given to those who apply before February 15th.
Are there any GPA, major or SAT requirements to be part of the program?
The program is open to all first-year year women of color who are enrolled at EMU for the upcoming Fall semester. Both students with declared majors and Exploratory students can become part of this program. GPA and SAT scores are not considered when reviewing applications.
