Department Research Seminars
The Department of Economics occasionally sponsors research seminars during the fall and winter semesters. During these seminars, current faculty, EMU Economics alumni, and researchers from surrounding universities present their current research to students and faculty in the department. Meet and Greet Event
Every fall semester, economics faculty and students welcome the new academic year with this social event. This is a perfect opportunity for new students to meet with the faculty and students.
Student Awards Ceremony
Every April, the Department recognizes student academic and service achievements. Students who excel in academics and service are recognized at this event. The Gockerman, Murg and Pearson Awards (along with their associated monetary prizes) culminate the event. See the scholarships page for descriptions of the awards.
Graduate Research and Creative Activity Conference
In the winter semester of each year, students present their research in this graduate conference sponsored by the Graduate School. Scholarships and fellowships are available through the event. Undergraduate Symposium
Each spring semester the College of Arts and Sciences sponsors a symposium that showcases undergraduate creativity and research. As participants in the symposium, students present results of their research projects in a setting which mirrors that of a professional academic conference. Workshops
