O*Net: The Occupational Information Network (O*NET) is a free online database that contains hundreds of occupational definitions to help students, job seekers, businesses and workforce development professionals to understand today's world of work in the United States. 

Bureau of Labor Statistics: This is the principal fact-finding agency for the U.S. Government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics and serves as a principal agency of the U.S. Federal Statistical System. The BLS is a governmental statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes, and disseminates essential statistical data to the American public, the U.S. Congress, other Federal agencies, State and local governments, business, and labor representatives. 

CareerOneStop: This resource a career exploration hub containing excellent information and insights into occupations of interests, the education and training needed, economic outlook, resources for particular affinity groups, and so much more.  

GoinGlobal: Search jobs in the USA using GoinGlobal is the market leader in helping job seekers of all nationalities fast track their career explorations both at home and abroad. Created by country experts, GoinGlobal features worldwide job and internship resources for more than 120 locations, including location-specific career guides, key corporate profiles, a proprietary H1B visa search engine and 16 million-plus job and internship postings.

What For Work: This resource is a collection of short informational interviews conducted with individuals in hundreds of different occupations that outline what they do and don't do in their work, the training they needed, a day in their life and advice they would give. 

Candid Career:  This site provides honest career information, and career planning help through a collection of video interviews with individuals from hundreds of occupations.

Networking & Job Search Websites

LinkedIn: This professional networking and job search platform contains over 750 Million users worldwide from every conceivable industry. 

Glassdoor: This is a resource where current and former employees anonymously review companies. Glassdoor also allows users to submit and view salaries as well as search and apply for jobs on its platform. 

Pure Michigan Talent Bank: This source is a launch pad for new jobs, careers and talent. It is a tool connecting Michigan’s job seekers and employers, and serves as a central hub linking all public and private stakeholders who support Michigan’s workforce. Pure Michigan Talent Connect serves as the state’s labor exchange system. 

USAJobs:USAJOBS connects job seekers with federal employment opportunities across the United States and around the world.
