"I completed the BEAT cohort application form. Now what?"

First, we want to thank you for taking time and sharing your information with our program. The first step to achieving your status of a BEAT scholar is complete. It is time to start using your well-earned credits towards a baccalaureate degree. A BEAT representative will review your survey submission and get in touch with you promptly.

A part of getting your journey started at a four-year institution are the credits you transfer. Therefore, we prepared a wealth of information to ensure a seamless transition. 

MICUP-BEAT Scholarship Objectives

  • Ensure timely graduation.
  • Encourage students’ academic tenacity.
  • Embolden students’ development towards personalized career goals.

Eligibility

  • Be a transfer student.
  • Meet SAP requirements.
  • Be a State of Michigan resident.
  • Become a MICUP-BEAT participant.
  • Complete the cohort application and be accepted into the MICUP-BEAT program.
  • Actively engage in the MICUP-BEAT Canvas course shell and participate in two events. 
  • Participate in the programming of Holman Success Center (HSC) in which MICUP-BEAT is housed.
  • Meet with an academic success coach at HSC two times each semester.
  • Earn 21 credits in 12 months at Eastern Michigan University, with a 2.5 or higher GPA.
    • You can complete your credits as you desire, but here is a suggestion:
      • 9 credits in the Fall, 9 credits in Winter, 3 credits in the Summer
