In-Office Resources

We pride ourselves on being able to provide EMU faculty and lecturers with the space and resources to support their career and academic goals. Whether you are looking for resources to host an event or to help you through the writing process, we hope that these tools will help you reach your next goal. We invite you to make space of our collaboratory room, computer lab, and office space all located in in Halle Library room 109.

  • Collaboratory

    The Collaboratory is open for reservation from 9 AM - 5 PM every Monday - Friday.

    The Faculty Development Center's Collaboratory offers visitors a large space to host events, workshops, and meetings, while also serving as a great place to work in silence. Along with ample space, the collaboratory also provides guests with many different technical resources, including:

    • An OWL 360 Degree Video Conferencing Camera and Microphone
    • Panaramic camera
    • A Computer 
    • A hy-flex television
    • A Smartbord
    • Whiteboard
    • Movable tables and chairs

    We welcome all EMU faculty, lecturers, and staff to make use of this spcae! For scheduling purposes, we ask that all hosts reserve this space at least 24 hours prior to your event. If interested in reserving the Collaboratory for events, meetings, or just a space to get some work done, please fill out the reservation form below.

    Note: If the Collaboratory is not reserved for a specific date/time, it will be open to first come, first serve events/meetings. Visitors utilizing this option should be aware that they will be asked to leave for any reserved events. 

  • Kitchen

    The Faculty Development Center's kitchen space is open from 9 AM - 5 PM every Monday - Friday.

    Located inside of Halle 109, our kitchen space provides faculty with the space to store any food and/or drinks for events that they are hosting in the Collaboratory and as a spot to have a peaceful lunch between classes.

    Our kitchen provides visitors the following options:

    • A microwave
    • A refrigerator and freezer
    • A sink
    • Several seats and tables
    • Food preparation areas
  • Library

    The Faculty Development Center Library has over 900 books on teaching and learning. Come visit the center to browse the shelves or browse our online catalogue at LibraryThing.

  • Office Space

    The FDC Office Space is open from 9 AM - 5 PM every Monday - Friday.

    The Faculty Development Center invites EMU faculty, lecturers, and staff to make use of our office space located in Halle 109. This office space offers:

    • A coffee and tea station
    • A conference table
    • Printer/Copier
    • 5 workstations with desktops
    • A workstation for portable devices

    Note: Due to budget cuts we would appreciate you bringing your own paper for print jobs exceeding 20 sheets.
