Biography

Dr. Cathy Donnell is a Ph.D. clinical psychologist who has been an adjunct professor in the EMU Teacher Education Department for the past 11 years. She teaches EDPS 322 to future teachers and focuses on how understanding developmental theories are critical to effective teaching. Dr. Donnell was a school psychologist for over 8 years and brings that experience to this course. Dr. Donnell also teaches EDPS 325 to students who are planning to go into health or affiliated fields. In this class, the focus is on human development across the lifespan and the relevance and application of the biopsychosocial model to chronic illness. Dr. Donnell brings real life experience having worked with veterans in both primary care mental health and other medical specialty clinics. She has enormous respect for both teachers and health affiliated professionals and their contributions to individual students/ patients, their families, and in turn, our world as a whole.
