EMU College of Education offers a wide range of academic programs that prepare you to make an impact in the world and improve the lives of children, families, and communities. Our graduates become classroom teachers and leaders at the PK-12, university, or professional level, as well as early childhood educators outside of school settings, counselors, and speech language pathologists. Our programs offer exceptionally practical and rigorous academic preparation so that you are ready to take on new roles and responsibilities and make a difference. At EMU, you will find that individual courses and programs are available in on campus, online, and in hybrid formats.

Undergraduate Programs

The EMU College of Education in close collaboration with colleges across the university offers a full range of PK-12 teacher certification programs. In addition, we offer leadership and special non-teaching minors that enhance any major at the University.

Doctoral Degree Programs

The EMU College of Education offers two excellent PhD programs. Our doctorate in Educational Leadership prepares effective leaders for PK-12, higher education, and other leadership roles and scholarship. Our doctorate in Educational Studies prepares individuals to work with impoverished communities as educators, scholars, community advocates, and activists.

The EMU College of Education offers professional certificate and non-certificate development opportunities as well as customized professional development for individuals with a bachelors seeking initial teacher certification, current teachers wanting to add teaching endorsements or enhancing leadership skills.
