Advising

College of Education advisors meet with students through online and phone appointments. Individual appointments are ideal for in-depth conversations. Quick questions of 5-10 minutes can be answered through virtual drop-in advising held once a week. General advising questions can be emailed to [email protected].

COE Group Advising/Canvas Advising

Group Advising, suggested to be taken in the sophomore year and required for admission to Teacher Preparation Candidacy, can be completed through a self-paced Canvas session called “Navigating the EMU Path to Becoming a Teacher". Students in the Elementary - Early Childhood Teaching and Learning major should instead complete a self-paced Canvas session called "Teacher Preparation Checkpoints." Please send an email to [email protected] to request to request access to the appropriate session.
