McLaine is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and specializes in the treatment and assessment of neurogenic cognitive-communication disorders. In addition to lecturing in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department, she remains active in the brain injury community and works as an SLP in the Ann Arbor area. She is interested in equipping students with a practical, functional approach to treatment so they are better able to provide evidence-based, person-centered care in their future practice.
