Hands-on & Practical
The Communication Sciences and Disorders Program at Eastern Michigan University offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders. The bachelor of science degree is available with optional elementary or secondary teacher certification. The master of arts degree, required for professional practice in the field, prepares all students to work clinically in a wide variety of settings.
On-site Clinic
The Speech and Hearing Clinic provides graduate students with two semesters of clinical practicum before doing internships at various off campus sites. Students have an opportunity to work with both children and adults for internships.
Our Programs
The Communication Sciences and Disorders Program at Eastern Michigan University consists of two undergraduate degree, a post-baccalaureate certificate, and a graduate degree. All four programs are accredited by Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.

The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Communication Sciences and Disorders is designed for those who are interested in becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist but have not completed an undergraduate degree in this field.

The Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders is a course of study that focuses on the biological, physiological, linguistic, and neurological bases of communication disorders, and a variety of communication disorders that might be present in an individual. This program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
