What You Will Learn

You will learn research-based approaches to teaching reading, writing, speaking, listening and viewing to secondary-level students. You will know how to read and write in a range of literary, academic, and professional genres as well read, reflect on, and engage in various methods of teaching.

Opportunities

Successful completion of this minor, in the context of other program requirements, qualifies a student for recommendation for the Michigan Department of Education English (BA) endorsement. Certified teachers with the English endorsement can teach English, literature and writing in 6-12th grade classrooms.
