A message from Dean Joseph

Summer beckons as the blooms of spring explode into fresh, new foliage and flowers, signaling it's time to rejuvenate and enjoy the wonders of nature. It's also a time for the College of Education family to take stock and be thankful for all of the projects and initiatives we've been able to accomplish over the past several months.
True to our values, we have stayed on course with expanding our international outreach and partnerships, and I am delighted to welcome 12 of our colleagues from Busan, South Korea who are currently on Eastern's campus. The Korean teachers are here for a month-long professional development experience. Our faculty are so excited, and are enjoying working and sharing their expertise with these teachers that will surely impact children globally.
We continue to offer an excellent curriculum and programs for initial teacher preparation in the COE, and our graduate programs continue to support in-service teachers with the skills that will make them effective and help their students succeed.
I commend the hard work, dedication and efforts our faculty and staff have extended as we continue on our mission to educate and prepare outstanding educators for the future. I am especially proud of our Faculty Research Award recipients, and the students and faculty members honored at the Celebration of Excellence this past spring.
I am so excited about all the possibilities and adventures that await us in the fall and about the continued implementation of our strategic plan. Until then, I would like to wish everyone a safe and restful summer!
Best,
Jann Joseph
