Gary Koppelman was honored by the National Science Teachers Association with the 2013 Shell Science Teaching Award for the positive impact he has had on his students, school and community through exemplary classroom science teaching. Koppelman graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor of science degree in 1973 and completed his master in elementary education in 1976. Gary has been teaching fifth grade science at Blissfield Community Schools in Blissfield, Michigan since 1973. For more information.*

Jennifer Bugar has been named assistant program supervisor for the Northville Public Schools special education center programs at Cooke School. Bugar has 12 years of hands-on experience in elementary special education and holds three special education degrees from Eastern Michigan University; a bachelor of science in emotional impairment (2000), masters of arts in learning disabilities (2007), and a specialists in arts in administration and leadership (2012). Cindy Hasselbring has been named special assistant to the state superintendent of schools at the Maryland State Department of Education. In this role, Hasselbring has been given the task of creating a S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education strategic plan for the state of Maryland. Hasselbring recently completed her second year as an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow at the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) in Arlington, Virginia. Hasselbring holds a masters of arts in secondary school teaching (2001) from Eastern Michigan University.

Jeff Koslowski received the Educator of Distinction Award from the National Society of High School Scholars. Koslowski teaches history at The Henry Ford Academy in Dearborn, Michigan and also serves as chairman of the Westland Historical Commission. Koslowski holds a teaching certificate in history (2007) and is currently pursuing a masters in history at Eastern Michigan University.
