About Our Textbook
- Losh, Alexander, Cannon, and Cannon. Understanding Rhetoric (3nd Edition, EMU Custom Edition). Boston: Bedford/St. Martin's, 2021.
In EMU’s First Year Writing Program (FYWP), we use one custom textbook across all sections of both WRTG 120 and WRTG 121. This textbook is specific to EMU’s First Year Writing Program and updated each year. Students should plan to purchase the most recent year’s editions of the textbook for any section of WRTG 120 and WRTG 121.
Students may also be asked to download additional readings (shared via Canvas, Google Drive or instructor email) and should be prepared to print out any readings or other course materials (e.g., handouts) as needed or requested by their instructors.
Each year, we also place copies of the textbook on course reserves in Halle Library, available for any WRTG 120 and WRTG 121 student to check out and use. Course Reserve copies are limited, so it is important to plan ahead. Visit the Information Desk in Halle Library for more information or to check out a copy.
