About this Program
This interdisciplinary program allows students to explore connections between linguistics, literature and writing. Required courses for majors include "Writing about Literature," "An Introduction to Linguistics" and a capstone experience for graduating seniors, emphasizing multigenre work and community involvement. Students complement their studies by selecting from an array of restricted elective courses, ranging from the principles of technical communication to the development of American literature.
This interdisciplinary program is taught by faculty in linguistics, literature and written communication.
Undergraduate Program
All literature faculty also serve as advisors for language, literature and writing majors and minors.
