Interests and Expertise

Tim began his journey into the sports world at a young age, when he began swimming competitively at age 7.  In high school, Tim qualified and competed in the YMCA National Swimming Championships from 2008-2010.  In addition to competing, Tim coached his local summer league for 3 summers and provided private lessons.  Tim continued to swim up until his sophomore year of college at a Division III School in Los Angeles, at which point he took a break from the sport to focus on personal and academic goals.

While Tim frequently participated in spin classes as part of cross training for his swimming, he recently took the steps to become a Mad Dogg Athletics Certified Spin Instructor.  Tim advocates for spinning because it is not only a great form of low impact exercise, but also a type of group exercise where people can come together in one space but still workout at their own pace.  He also believes that his role as an instructor is to provide direction and support because ultimately it comes down to ones’ ability to push themselves.
In addition to instructing at Eastern Michigan University, Tim instructs at Societe Indoor Cycling Studio in Ann Arbor.
