The IRS Data Retrival Tool is Temporarily Down

The IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) typically allows students and parents to conveniently transfer tax information directly to the FAFSA. This service has recently been suspended and will remain unavailable for an unspecified amount of time. The IRS has chosen to do this over concerns of identity theft. The IRS and the Department of Education are working to resolve the issue.

The FAFSA is still available! Until the DRT is brought back, however, students and parents will be required to manually submit tax data. Tax return transcripts can be ordered online by visiting the IRS website ( EMU will provide updates as we receive new information. As always, feel free to call us or visit a Service EMU location if you have questions.
