The College of Education offers several options for those who wish to earn a Secondary Education minor in the sciences. A minor in either Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, or Physics, along with skills acquired through a major course of study, prepares you to teach your chosen subject area in 6-12th grade classrooms.

  • Secondary Education Biology Minor

    Successful completion of this minor, in the context of other program requirements, qualifies the student for recommendation for the Michigan Department of Education Biology (DA) endorsement. Certified teachers with the Biology (DA) endorsement can teach Biology in 6-12th grade classrooms. Average of 27-31 credit hours to complete.

  • Secondary Education Chemistry Minor

    Successful completion of this minor, in the context of other program requirements, qualifies the student for recommendation for the Michigan Department of Education Chemistry (DC) endorsement. Certified teachers with the Chemistry endorsement can teach Chemistry in 6-12th grade classrooms. Average of 24 credit hours to complete.
