A large percentage of Americans experience mental health problems at some point in their lives. Licensed professional counselors work alongside other professionals in community-based mental health centers, hospitals, other treatment centers, and private practice to provide services to those in need.
Master’s Degree Program at Eastern Michigan University
The Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program is a 60 semester hour program of studies that includes coursework and a clinical practicum and internship in our on-campus clinic and in community agencies. The program meets the requirements for licensure as a professional counselor in Michigan and many other states and is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)
Geared to Working Students
The program is designed to accommodate the busy lives of our students, who have 6 years to complete their programs. Classes are offered year-round in the evenings. Some classes are offered online and on weekends.
