BathHouse Events Presents Sarah Schulman September 24th, 25th, 26th

The Creative Writing Program, with support from Campus Life, is excited to present this semester's BathHouse Events! We will be hosting the acclaimed novelist, playwright, journalist, screenwriter, and AIDS historian, Sarah Schulman, who will be with us for three events on Sept. 24, 25 and 26.

Tuesday, September 24, 7 p.m.

Conflict is Not Abuse: Overstating Harm, Community Responsibility, and the Duty of Repair.

A talk and discussion around Schulman's nonfiction book of the same title.

Wednesday, September 25, 3:30 p.m.

Fiction reading.

Schulman’s recent works of fiction include Maggie TerryThe Mere Future and The Cosmopolitans.

Thursday, September 26, 11 a.m.

United in Anger: A History of ACT UP.

Screening of Schulman's documentary film, and discussion.

All events will take place in the Student Center Auditorium, and provide LBC credit. 

Bio

Distinguished Professor of Humanities, Gender and Intersectionality Studies, City University of New York Staten Island, Sarah Schulman's honors include a Guggenheim in Playwriting, a Fulbright in Judaic Studies, two American Library Association Awards and the Bill Whitehead Award for Lifetime Contribution to LGBT Studies.
