Community Building Events

Once a month this year, the Faculty Development Center and the Office of Campus & Community Writing will host a fun event, intending to bring joy into our lives.  This will include such things as cooking classes, informal gatherings to mark off-beat occasions and, of course, the FDC's annual party for Opening Day of Baseball Season (Save the Date: Thursday, March 26, 2025).  At all of these events, we invite you to put aside whatever troubles you might have, and join us for food, fun, and fellowship.  Through joy, we find the strength to cope with everyday challenges and what life throws at us.

Our first such event this year will celebrate National Ampersand Day, on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 3:30 PM, at the Faculty Development Center (109 Halle).

Join us for ampersandish food (such as chips & dip, cake & ice cream, cheese & crackers), board games (such as Chutes & Ladders), fun videos (such as Abbott & Costello), and lovely music (featuring artists such as Hall & Oates, Brooks & Dunn, Simon & Garfunkel).

We hope you can join us & eat with us & party with us & take a load off & relax & just let your mind rest.  See you there!
