Restorative Practices for Empowered Teaching Professionals: Healing in a Time of Change
This program is a holistic initiative aimed at enhancing the well-being of faculty and lecturers by integrating healing-centered practices into their professional and personal lives. This program offers a trauma-informed yoga session and psychoeducation workshop that addresses the complex stressors impacting faculty and lecturers, particularly in today’s challenging socio-political climate.
The purpose of this program is to support faculty and lecturers in achieving sustainable well-being through evidence-based, culturally relevant, and community-centered approaches. By providing tools to nurture mental, emotional, and physical health, we aim to foster a supportive environment that encourages participants to thrive both within and outside of their professional roles. This program not only prioritizes the well-being of faculty and lecturers, but also strengthens their ability to support students effectively.

This program consists of two interconnected sessions designed to deepen and refine your learning and practice. The first session introduces key concepts and techniques, which you are encouraged to apply in the weeks following. The second session offers an opportunity to build upon this foundation through more embodied practice, such as yoga (a highly anticipated element), and to reflect with facilitators and peers on successes and challenges as you work to integrate these practices into your life and classroom.
Attendance at both sessions is essential to gain the full benefits of the program. While the second session is structured as a more advanced continuation, it is not a stand-alone offering; If you are unable to attend the first session, we kindly ask that you refrain from attending the second.
We recognize that your time is valuable, and we invite you to set this time aside fully for yourself. Engaging wholeheartedly in the workshop will maximize your experience and the benefits you take away. We are also delighted to offer a light lunch designed to nourish your body and support mindful engagement. The meal will complement the day's focus on grounding, healing, and holistic well-being.
